What you all rolling around on?

Im due new ones and found my Federal 595RSR a bit shit in the wet, been looking at Goodyear F1 GSD3, Parada Spec2, Rainsport 3's etc......I'm going 215/40/17 so options arent vast.
Dont expect anyone to choose them for me just a chat.

on the megane....... its had Conti's (from new - good but lasted 6k!) x2 sets of Goodyear eagle F1's (the only type that looked like a tractor tyre) and they where amazing!! then Avon's zv3 i think..... (I was skint, they where cheap and shit!)
its now on its 2nd set of Michelin ps3's and fair to say....... they'll be staying on the car... I know some say the Ps2 is better.... but i'm quite happy of sitting in the passenger seat going around right hand corners! :-P plus....... they've lasted ages.... first set lasted 12k.... they are quiet on the motorway and actually grip ok in the wet

wow.... 6 sets of tyres on 62k.......mmmmmm might have to slow down a bit

The goodyears are shit !
Gaylord @Moggy. 6 sets in 62k ? I have done that many in 27k :P
Contisport SP3 + 5 , PS2 , PS3 , Goodyear ASS f1 , RSR595

RSR595 FTW just take it a bit steadier in the wet. Plus they take a little time getting warm

Having said that Lee , can you get the new Michelin Pilot SuperSport in your size ?

Yeah you can mate.

Im leaning towards the Uniroyal Rainsport 3 tbh. Reviews are very strong. 595 give fab wet grip but i was aquaplaning at 40 on the way to Scoff. Lost all confidence in them.
Moggy, i went thru 3 sets of Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta in the M3 in about 14months or 8k. They were great wet and dry, just poss too soft for front of 21.

Agreed they are iffy in the standing water.

I would seriously consider the PSS. I have only heard great things about them. They are the ps2 replacement.

I still like my Toyo Proxes T1R.

Cheap, abusable, grippy, reasonable in the wet. I say cheap again cos I do a pair of fronts in the 21/Clio every 2500 to 3000 miles.

For track use though it's slicks for me now I think. A good track day will finish a set of road tyres.

NangKang ns2r have transformed the handling on Fluffy, I need to get on track to push them, but generally, I feel a lot more confident with them. Worth a punt for the £££

Andy , the NS2-R are generally not classed as grippy as the RSR and have the same drawbacks as the RSR. IE standing water

ive recently switched to rainsport 3's for my trophy, really good tbh, not 888 or rsr grip but you really need to push the stupid button to break traction, and so far they have been stupid good in the wet too

I know a Nankang rep but they dont do them in my size he was going to donate me a set for very little pounds as well.

So its Rainsport 3, PS3 or Eagle F1.

Thanks chaps ;)

I get the impression that T1R's are good, on certain cars!

I had some on an old gtt years ago and they were great. I then put some on my old daily hack Escort and they were scary.

Depends on price an for what you want to use them, but as it often rains in your country (in mine too, nearly every day in August),
I would not buy the Parada's, I had them on my Scooby some years ago, very good in dry conditions but not good in the rain.
I had 595RSR on my Clio R27 last year (bought them for the 21, but in the wrong size...) and I have the on my Williams, for me they work great.
Michelin's PS3 on the Mégane RS, great in dry and rain.

595RSR maybe are 2 seconds slower on track than 888's, but you can buy a least 2 sets for the price of one set of 888's.
