Tyres- What to go for?

Hi!

Getting a Phase 1 back on the road after a lengthy slumber, with the idea of using this Spring, & selling in the Summer.

Currently sitting on old, perished Avon ZV(7?)'s, but looking to update while the alloys are being refurbished.

Considering the options below, but not sure which to go for, and if I'm missing any contenders?
- Michelin Pilot Sport 4
- Goodyear Eagle F1 A6
- Toyo Proxes Sport

Some advise, or user experience would be a useful insight!

Best,
Jake.

To be honest I can't see past PS4's, they have been excellent on mine.

I havent tried the others on a Vee, but I have used Proxes on other cars, they're OK but the PS4 is significantly better.

If you use the PS4, try dropping the pressure on the front - I run 20psi front, 30psi rear. There's so little weight up front it helps with understeer (I also run 1.5° -ve camber and a sniff of toe in).

I've also got a ph1 v6 which I'm planning to get back on the road this year after a little 8 year sleep. Looking for the best Michelins I can get for it. Virtually nobody online has the PS4s in stock in the correct sizes. Looking at some cheaper ones available, I guess the PS4 XL TL are not the ones I'm looking for? They sound like the right tyre but I don't want to risk it...

Are they the right PH1 sizes? I have PH2 18's on mine - can you tweak the size to make it easier to get a tyre? I did this on mine, and run a 225 front and 255 rear so there is defo room for adjustment.

Black circles suggests a phase 1 takes 205/45/17 and 245/40/17 which is available in Michelin PS5. Suggest you do a bit more research on the sizes to verify, but this may work.

Thanks!

It looks like Renaults press archive disagrees with Black Circles:

In true supercar fashion, it ran a staggered wheel and tyre combination, with 205/50/ZR17 front tyres and 235/45/ZR17 tyres at the rear.

So:
205/50/ZR17 - front
235/45/ZR17 - rear

Looks like I can get a full set of PS4s for about £560 delivered.

Which is great because it looks like 245/40/17 isn't available any more unless you get the XL ones.
