Trip to Belgium Saturday 12th April

Ah , merci .

Je parle un peu mais c'est tres mal parcque j'olbier mais c'est la vie !

well were do i start, what a trip, what a laugh, hav'nt laughted so much for ages. sat; dyno, collection of car from clio 16v,172 19's gt turbo's and of course 21t's, jo's car was fantastic seeing the car pull 4 bar and sounding like a race car,great:bow2:  . phil's car; wicked i was in his car before and after the mapping , and i can tell you what a diffrence.:good: :good: sat nite good meal at hotel with jo and family plus 600 turks:waah: dont ask.
sunday ; fix oil leak, bbq, lots of food and:beer2: good company..

thank you jo and kat again for you hospitality. it was a great week end:bow2: :bow2: :good: :good:

Awesome weekend - huge thanks to Jo & Kat for the food, drinks, more drinks & general hospitality!!

Was really impressed with my 21 - 195bhp @ the wheels & 295nm torque was more than i was expecting. As for mods, i have a front mount, cossie fuel regulator, rebuilt but standard turbo @ 17psi, induction kit & Jo also thinks it's chipped but i haven't had a look yet. All i know is that mine & Phils torque figures were the same & on a private motorway i can stay with him until 100mph or so - but Phil's car sounds chuffing awesome.........

As Chris mentioned, look out for the cashpoint run - it's a wicked video..........

The drive home was interesting, Phil ran out of petrol 20k's from Calais & we missed the last train - had to wait until 01.45 for the next one. I got from Dover to Sixpenny Handley in under 2 hours & in the process fooked the manifold (previously had been welded), broke the boost gauge & knackered the dizzy seal.......still managed 33mpg over the 825 miles round trip.

Anyway, thanks again to the Belgium/NL crew & to all who made us most welcome!!

Jonno

Well done phil, finally got all set up. Now, do you want a race, il bring my deisel van.

Nice one boys, glad you enjoy yourselfs.

Hi Chris & Dennis - good to see you guys again!

Got back this morning at 4am.

Car is amazing!! Like an animal! and sounds like one too! Will post more details later when I wake up properly!

If only you filled it up earlier :-P

to bad you had to mis your train, but you have another weekend to remember.

i realy wished i could have go with you to antwerp, but due to high cost of the renovation of my house,i had to pass the offer...i have to say that the idea of john was verry intersting :-P

The whole week-end was fab!

Left Friday at 2230, picked johnspin from Slough train station or rather ''johnslim where are you you've lost so much weight you look like an anorexic with anorexia''

Drove to Folkstone to get the tunnel. Was supposed to stop for a sleep but cos Johnspins satnav was set to ''ON HEAT'' mode it took us through all the back roads (including roads shut for roadworks, that we continued down!) and through every red light district in Belgium! didn't even know Belgium had prostitues! They were sat in the window like Amsterdam!! COOL!!

Arrived in Antwerp to meet Jo for some caffeine in the Total garage! Then off to meet some others in alayby and down to Dynojet!

Few cars arrived including 5gtt, clio 16v, r1916v, megane, bikes, The A-Team van blah blah blah.

Spent some of the morning fixing oil leak on my car (sump and bit from the dizzy!)

Jons car went on rollers first with some respectable figures!

A clio with a straight through exhaust that sounded like a touring car with no exhaust!!

My car went on for mapping and she sounded fooking great! The day was very hot so results on day can be increased by approx 15%!!

Had to take my car off mid map to cool down, as I need to sort out the cooling! Basically there is not enough air getting through to rad & intercooler!

But went back on later and she done very well. Great thing is that she is capable of more boost, so more power is definitely possible.

Jo's car went on later, and again this was an awsome car - on cam it revs so fast its like a motorbike engine!! ABsolutely crazy run at 4 bar! And the engine held out completely fine! 4 bar - that is pretty amazing!

Day ended at a lovely hotel that Jo and Kat found for us. There was a 600 strong turkish wedding. The food was fantastic, and we spent the evening chatting and drinking with Jo, Kat and boys! Was a lovely evening!

As we had missed out on a nights sleep we were all pretty hanging. Jo said my eyes were closing at dinner, so must of loooked f*cked!

I think we all fell asleep the minute our heads hit the pillows!

Next morning down to Jo's to repair the oil leak! Was the dizzy, so Jo provided some spares from his garage. Afterwards we went round Jo's for an amazing BBQ with some of Jo's family & friends.

Kat made some punch. It wwas so strong that I was a little bit tipsy 10 mins later! But it tasted just like fruit juice!!

On the way home my dizzy started pissing out oil so had to take it easy, and then my fuel gauge was giving dodgy readings which meant I ran out of fuel on the motorway. Then we missed our train so I got the 0145 crossing. Got in at 0400.

Luckily I had no work today but the 2 Johns had to get up at 7!! LOL

Just ordered a new dizzy seal, so tomorrow will give that a go and hope that the opil leak goes away!

Oh and big thanks to everyone that has helped with getting car to the rollers! It was well worth it, and I would recommend Henks work to everyone. Truly amazing!!

Nice one Phil,
wish i could of made it with you lot,
never mind next time,

Glad to hear your happy with car,:good: :good:

Good to hear you all made it, and the mandatory drama was only an empty fuel tank.

Come on then, lets hear some figures! :good:

oh i forgot to say, i rode shootgun with jo after dyno , and fook me that car is ffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffast:wow: between 4thou and 6.5 it pull's like no other 21t i've ever been in, it was awsome

I was behind Jo and yes it looks as fast as it feels!!!

I think Jo prooved how strong our engines can be at 3 bar!! with the right internals of course and mapping guru Henk!

that was scary, lol

Tomorow gonna i'm gonna call turbo service to see what can be done with the actuator. Must get rid off the peakboost.

And the 90° bend on the turbo must be solved 2, to much restriction.

Not bad with standard headgasket, tb and manifolds, lol.

Andy/Dave/Lee/craig ... ? What could be a solution for peakboost ?

First the actuator feed was from compressor to actuator, 0.7 bar between peak and steady boost.

Then whe changed it, from plenum to actuator. Better, 0.5 diff.

Then from inlet manifold to actuator, better butt still 0.4 diff.

Peak boost 2.2 bar, drop back to 1.8 and stay at 1.8

I think the only thing left is the actuator ?

Jo, is it the same actuator as the one thats with the gt28rs I'v got?
If it is its wwwaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy to soft! You need the same as a -34 ( can hardly pull it out by hand)

Andy
