Tow Point

I got recovered by the AA yesterday, after a total wait of 4 hours 50 minutes. But never spotted the tow point. struggled to get the car on the flatbed without it.

Well, Iain. In all honesty the car has been i royal pain in the ass since I bought it. I've had an issue with an intermitant misfire/hesitation. Lots of people have had a look at it and not found any problems.

Saturday, it started to do the misfire again, and then died. It then restarted, did 20 miles and then died for good. No fuel pressure.

Removed the fuel pump, with the intention of taking it to spike for a rebuild. When I removed it, I quickly noticed that the pressure regulator was loose in the housing, and had popped the o-ring out. Its retained by 2 srcews, one of which was tight to turn, but about 2 full turns loose. This must have come from the factory like this.

So looks like the car is cured after 6 months of heart ache.

I'm looking at MOT in the next few week, hopefully a steering wheel rw trim, then possibly putting up for sale while the weather is still good.

I've not decided for sure yet. When I set out to buy a Vee, I wanted a high milage one, or a cat D. I ended up, buying this, and it takes the enjoyment out of owning it sometimes. Can't park it any where, and worry where I leave it.
