5 GT Turbo too cold oil ....

after puting a mocal oil cooler i have problem with oil temp now.inside traffic after long hour i see 75 c maximum and if i take the high way to long corse the temp falls to 55c and more.i took out my oil plate adaptor and check the thermostat inside with hot and cold water it seems to be moving.to be honest i was expecting some better system to allow or not allow the oil to go to the cooler but it seems that the mocal runs all the time the oil and if gets more than 85 c it just the thermostat moves and just give more flow to the oil to travel to the cooler.

the oil pipes tha the mocal kit had inside is allmost double the diameter of the std oil pipes of the 5gt.i was thinking maybe from there i have more flow and speed my oil that i should have and maybe if i fix two new oil pipes with the std diameters i cut the flow of the oil and gain some temp.

what u say gyus ?

The question to ask is Where are you measuring the oil temp?
On the return
On the sump
On the oil gallery
Before the stat
Before the cooler but after the stat

i have put the senson in the sump down. i dril the screw where you change oil.

today i reffited the std plate -lines back to the std refrigerator.i wiil test it later and i will inform.
whoever comes to greece for holidays send me pm i make hin gift this bullshit mocal oil cooler .. lol !

Placing the temperature sensor on the sump is wrong as on a standard set up the sump is part of the oil cooling system as it is in the air flow so you are measuring already chilled oil.
Another question is what size (Row number) cooler have you got.

The UK spec cars don't need any more than standard oil cooling, unless it's a track car and evan then the original works well.....
I know members have fitted these kits , only to cover the oil cooler to bring up the temperatures....
Before the kit were you seeing 100c+ temperatures in the oil ?
Plus in this car it would be fair to say " oil for lub'in and water for cool'in "
