Titanium 255 #19 £16,995

I bought a Ph1 last year and was surprised to learn that it had it's first cambelt change in 2014....after 12 years and 23k miles! Apparently, the belt was in fine condition.
However, it is a quad cam 24 valve V6 which was a pretty exotic spec only 15 years ago, and it would still be bloomin' expensive to fix lots of bent valves and damaged guides / seats / pistons. It will be changed at 5 years this time.

I think it's a bit of a game of Russian Roulette leaving the job too long.

Belt discussions all over this forum and plenty well over the five years! Mine was used very hard and seven years old, when removed was still in good condition, Ali's was ten but getting tired, but not that bad! Remember that the lump is basically a Parisian taxi motor and tough as old boots. I would think that a run to France would get it changed, ask the guys on v6passion for guidance on someone close to you.

Thanks, Good advice and some reassurance that I'm not the only "delinquent parent" on paper at least. I'm aware that the V6 lump was not exactly state of the art (and was a feature of the ill fated A310 as well as the 'ugly as sin' Vel satis) but didn't know it was a used by Parisian taxis - in which model did this engine feature? Thanks

I would presume the laguna would be favourite and probably developed on from the Renault 25 (I can see it but model is fuzzy )

That has to be the record. I was 10 years and the belt was okay...A little thin when folded over but would have lasted a good while longer!
