Timing on E6J 1.4

can this be manually adjusted?

and how if possible?

just feels like the timing is slightly out on the running of Persil, almost like its trying to keep up with itself, if that makes sense? :?:

if this isnt the answer to the running probs, could the coil affect it in this way at all?

im hoping the piston rings arent shot tbh, lol

ah, well, spose i'll have to check that one out then, lol

anything else?

was thinking maybe theres something up with the carb, but not knowing anything about them is a bit of a downfall, lol

When was the carb last serviced?

Let's face it even the youngest carb on a 1.4 19 is going to be at almost 20 years old...

not adjustable. vacuum pipe damage will advance the ignition timing.

did you clean the carb at all? did you do a compresion test?

didnt clean it as such, tbh, i dont know anything about carbs except it mixes fuel and air, :D

havent done the comp test yet, was hoping someone might have one already to save spending out on a tester.

maybe i could take a small video of it running? 8)

just wish i had another 1.4, so i could swap bits over until i find the bit thats playing up, :D

lol just whip the carb off, tin of carb cleaner aerosol and maybe you can use your moustache comb to give it a good clean?

hi ive a 1991 1.4 gtsx on a cab shes done 183000 all origonal an shes solid. ive cleaned my carb buy taking the jets out and blowing through them but to be honest she runs like a quartz clock and ive done regular servicing good oil timing belt all by myself .

That sounds excellent, as a 19 should be really! :)

aye shes a bit scruffy inside and needs some interir bits and pieces but cannot find any in junkyard theirs a 16v cabriolet at stavely chesterfield butmines a 5dr.

i need a boot lock with out a key as my locks dont work with keys only ignitin. i flattened my battery and pressed the remote locks didnt move so forced the boot lock and now have a circle where the key goes in.

renault 19 16v cabriolet williams. i think thats what it said on it maybe just a 16v but worth a checkout for bits.

The 'Williams' was a Renault Clio with a 2 litre engine.

It's more than likely a R19 16v in dark blue (same colour as the Williams Clio).
Should be plenty of bits worth saving off it however (y)
