Stupidly high idle on the vlaver (2-3k)

ahh right I see, ok well it's sat a bit below 3 at normal temp and goes up slightly when i rev it.

It's just acting strangely though, It stays at 2.5-3k when I start it unless I blip the throttle a bit (it lowers it's self each time i blip).

Then i bliped it at one point and it stayed on 3k and I had to turn it off then on again?

Do you think it's worth giving this TB a good scrub? If i take it off will i need a new gasket or anything?

Also the ISCV, do i need to loosen that bolt that's arrowed on the pic or is it just held with the pipes? Look how close the front panel is to it where it's been pushed back, that's going to be a pain in the arse to remove:cry:

state on that...wouldn't be surprised if it was unable to close properly due to crap.

clean it up, unbolt the slam panel then its all easy. Loook through CHR customer car gentle bens clio 16V for pics, near the end.

carb cleaner for the icv and tb.

repair the wire last pic what am i lookign at?

also did you remove the air inlet temp sende ront eh manifold? clean that with carb cleaner as welll

Get some carb cleaner in both sides of that TB and give it a proper clean out. The ICV doesnt look very healthy either, caked in crap. Spray some carb cleaner in there or like I do get some kitchen roll, wrap it round ure little finger and carb cleaner in the ICV and on the roll.

In the last pic does that hose look like it's connected right to you?

Also i'm not sure what the air inlet temp sender is ha ha so you might have to point that one out on a pic.

What should I do about the crap in the mainfold it's self? And do I need a new gasket for the TB when i put it back?

thanks.

well theres light going into the manifold,. so you have removed somethign at the belt end of it. if its not the sensor then its the core plug!

hose is fine.

crap in the inlets not going anywhere.

haha ok dude. Oh about the TB, can you file the bits down on the butterfly to improve flow? Or is that pointless on this car?

Thewre we go, pretty clean now :) Can see the numbers on th the TB plates:eek: Check out the blood blister from when I did the shocks the other day.. nice!

That was the best I could get the ICSV but it spins so much easier now though!

will do, oh what's the other pipe hole in the back of the air filter for? One is for the ISCV but not sure on the other so just block it up?
