Stress fractures in bodywork

Don't know if anyone else has had this problem; noticed some cracks in the paintwork on my wheel arches and one on my rear bumper. Took it to the local dealer, they have sent pics to 'france'. 'france' came back and said to get a quote for a repair under warranty. Took the car to a nominated bodywork chappie, he reckons its stress fractures in the plastic so he quoted to replace all affected panels. 'France' disagreed, said they are aware of these problems and that they can be repaired. Had to get a quote from another chappie who can offer a 2 year guarantee on the paintwork.

Has anyone else experienced this, will a simple repair and respray solve it?

Also, when its done, i am thinking of getting ventureshield paint protection film put on (had a price of £350 for bonnet and front bumper package, fitted) -is it any good, is this price fair?

Not sure about the body work but I'm considering ventureshield as well as I've started to get a few stone chips after only a few weeks. Let me know if you have it done as I'd be interested to see if it really is invisible and there's no lines where the strips end.

it sounds as if you or some one else has hit the car.

In the area could it be a stone or some brick.

In reality if is reinforced fibre glass.

If you have a body shop that deals in Lotus they should be able to repair it with no trouble at all.

I know a number in the South but not in your location.

East london and West London no problem.

Cheers, gonna have to go with Renaults recommendation i suppose as they paying for it under warranty. There has been no collisions and there are no dents near the affected areas. Two of the 'cracks' are on both arches where they meet the front bumper. In all honesty they are not serious but i am worried in time they'll get worse.

Common fault:
Mine first cracked when I had a 'moment' and caught the kerb on the opposite side of the road, second time other side cracked when I hit a mad, car chasing dog but the dog came off worse!
Scott had it repaired and he also installs ventureshield.
