Stiffer Suspension Top Mounts

My suspension mount on the left side doesn't sit down on the frame like in your pictures. It kind of sits at a bit of an angle.

I did have a laser alignment done a while back. Do you think this might have been it?

Cheers,
Phil.

It's normal, just move the steeringwheel around and watch the motion off the topmount. At first it looks quite scary, as if it was misaligned.

fred; how many miles have you got on the Compbrake ones? Harry raised entirely legitimate concerns about the potential longevity of the bearings in them.

I've spoken to Compbrake and they're quite prepared to do a group buy but someone who is actually using the top mounts and can give first hand experience of them would be very useful before any of us actually commit any money.

not hard to fit, max have you seen the size of the bearing vs the OE one? remember the V6 uses the SAME front topmounts as found on old R5/clios from 15years ago!

mine seem fine so far, i've been trying them out on a 172 so far, geting another set to try on the v6

I will be fitting some uprated top mounts to my car over the coming weeks.

I'll let you all know how it goes.

For the record both my standard ones are worn out at less than 5 years old and under 50Kmiles! :(

Peter :D
