I know there are a few threads about this but I wonder if someone can help.

For my vee i bought....

LINK

....for my Alpine H/U

However just went out to fit it and it does not work. Does the dash need to come off on a PH1? or is it just the wrong lead? The car does not have the longer third plug just the standard ISO connections.

Thanks

Sounds like you have the wrong lead, the Mini yellow ISO lead that comes from your steering controls ( Via the display ) would plug into the top longer plug.

If all you have is the Power and Speaker plug, It suggests you've been given the later version that would have been controlled by the Can Bus system.

Cheers mate,

The only leads behind the stereo i can find are the standard power and speaker iso style plugs.

Have a rake around in the radio hole on the left hand side the yellow plug lead is wrapped in grey foam and falls down.

May be i've read it wrong, does the steering control lead that you have, Have the long female plug as it shows in the picture, if so then there will be a plug that needs to be inserted,

The top longer plug is made up of three plugs that clip together, Yellow is display and steering controls, Blue is the CD changer control plug and green is outputs ( Not used )

If your CD changer is still in the car the blue plug will be hiding in there too, Not that you'll be able to use it with the new head unit.
