Starting delay

My mate Oz'z 172 is having starting issues, does the Vee have the same issue

Probably doing all the engine checks, etc. My ph2 172 wouldn't turn over for about 1-2 secs after immediately turning the key after putting it in the ignition.

my 172 used to do that a little
it turned out that the battery was on the way out.
