Standard Atmo Door Mirrors

Continuing my search for a decent Atmo (yes i like a challenge!) & just noticed that all i'd seen including some the turbos as well had different door mirrors from the Atmo i owned during the mid-eighties. This had a maga stylish pair of Vitaloni Californian's which looked much better than the awkward looking standard one's! As these were presumably Italian have i answered my own question meaning these were certainly add-on's or were they offered as a period optional extra? :?

YOU CAN FIND ANYTHING ON EBAY!!!!!!!!

Are these the ones? I had these fitted to my car back in the day. You can still buy them from places such as demon tweeks etc. Its surprising they stood the test of time. I have got a 1979 sales brochure for a Gordini and it details the same wing mirror, so yes it was standard, but for that year it only showed the one mirror on the drivers door.

£50 says.........actually no,your T2 in a container to Aukland Harbour says that the standard (ie blue glass and dark blue backing) wing/door mirror is Minestroni, sorry Vitaloni! 8) 8)

Going off topic a bit here.I was at my local breakers getting some yellow headlamp bulbs and an indicator the other day.He dusted off the box from the top shelf that all the MK1 5 indicator units in and to my delight nearly half of them were the clear lense type :D

So next time any of you are in France check out the breakers for these babies,I paid 15euros a pair for the whole units not just the lenses.

Bought those mirrors for £20 well happy, that's the last part I need it for my atmo......

For Cliche...... Vitaloni (manufacturer name ) made most if not all the mirrors for the Mk1 5, for the dini variants they had two models:

California "Dini Atmo" still available in uk
Baby Tornando "Dini Turbo" still available from Italy and USA

I belive on Turbo 1 and 2 they were Tornado ( not baby because they are bigger ) but one of them was electric, which you can still bought for around £150

Hope Cliche this makes you happy because I know you were a little confused :?

you can thank me for not bidding! I wanted them too

I know you must have done, cheers  Look at it this way at least I will not be bidding anymore for atmo stuff as I have everything i need now :D estimated completion date for atmo 2020 :(

Just got hold of a mint '5' range brochure from 1980/81 & it shows a Dini Atmo with standard door mirrors being the Vitaloni's in the pictures & are also listed as standard as the spec data lists metallic paint & vinyl trim (nice) as the only two options so they were standard for a time after all. :?
