Sports cat

Firstly the good news new starter motor is on and the car is running again.
Bad news is the cat is buggered hence the engine management light being on. I’ve looked on RPD and no joy. There seems to be a few on Renaultgenuineparts.com but there is very little info on which is which. I need a sports cat. Any suggestions.
Ps sorry to flood this forum with so many questions my mechanical knowledge is tiny but I’m learning as I go

Some of the after-market sports cats simply trigger the engine light on. Folk who’ve gone down this road leave it on or have bought an OBD reader to routinely switch it off. The information is on here somewhere...

I haven’t heard of a V6 OEM cat simply fail. There are a set of brand new components on eBay but it’d be looking for 2nd hand if I was in this pickle. Again, I’ve not known one to fail (yet).

It’s a sports cat not OEFitted approx 2007-8. It’s seems buggered. When it was off if it was tipped up small pieces of debris fell out. Looks as if it’s slowly deteriorating

I think SPIKE had some phase two cats for sale.
If you don't want OEM you could buy a 200 cell metalised sports cat and get it welded in.

SPIKE has a shed load of cats he is wanting to sell, almost better going back to OEM due to the new MOT requirements as it seems some of the sports cats wont necessarily pass especially if they are getting a bit frilly round the edges.

Simon, you are quite correct i do still have four sets of cats on the shelf, even a brand new set, but no one has offered the right money yet, i am just waiting for them to start failing. I think the Reno fuel and ECU system looks after them too well.
As for flow rates i looked into how much better a 200cpi cat would flow and it really was not a deal more, 100cpi works well but as you say puts the light on every farts end, particularly when given a boot full, my thoughts at the time were that the cats are too short and thats why reno went with the restrictive secondary cat system.
Proof of the pudding, just put a set of Green cats on a V8 Mustang that are over twice the size of the OEM reno ones, and yes annoyingly the light comes on when you floor it.
BTW hope you are well, again bit late in on this one. Work seems to get in the way.
