Speedometer and abs light

Hi. My clio ' s abs light has come on and shortly afterwards the speedo has started to bounce. I have looked on the Web and it seems a common problem with all clios. Where is the speedo pick up on the v6? Cheers Rob

I think one of the abs wheel sensors does the speedo, but not sure which one?
You may find out with a search of the forum.

I think I'm right in saying that your ABS modulator, reads off the ABS sensiors and transfers it to your speedo, Expensive if your modulators gone :violin:

I have just had the same problem on my Phase 2 V6! Car has just been up on lift and drivers side rear ABS ring missing and passenger side rear ABS ring in poor condition. Additional problem is that fault diagnosis computers could not find ABS computer! Looks like I am in for an expensive repair! Have you been able to source the ABS rings as separate items? I have been advised that I need two complete drive shaft assemblies!

So does the speedo pick from the rear abs rings? Taken a look at the fronts tonight and all looked fine

Well fixed the speedo, was caused by a dirty pick up off the abs ring. However the ABS has not gone out (Speedo reading fine). Does it need an ECU reset? If so will disconnecting the battery do the trick or do I need to plug it into a diagnostic machine? A friend has the Renault clip system so can give him a shout. Cheers

Ps - Hope everyone is enjoying the lakes today. Sorry could not make it. Just been looking at the webcam, weather doesn't look too great. If you are parking in the marine car park at Low Wood can you see if a boat (JoKa) is still there. Not been this year so might be looking a little scruffy!
