If you happen to have a carb with a bored out venturi and want to replace it, without heating the carb up and cooling the venturi and ruining it, follow this guide.
Mark the centre of the plug with a centre punch.20230506_130822.jpg

Drill a small hole.

Bigger drill needed.

Nerves of steel and a steady hand.

You reach a screw.

Remove the rest of the plug.

Insert large flat blade screwdriver, give it a few taps with a hammer and undo.

Push the secondary venturi away from the emulsion tube with a screwdriver. It should pop out.20230506_131530.jpg20230506_131545.jpg

Just like that.20230506_131551.jpg

You need to make a tool. Coach bolt, a nut, a washer and a bit of tubing ( old exhaust piece ).20230506_131701.jpg

The head of the coach bolt needs to be just slightly smaller than the outer diameter of the venturi. You then need to angle grind a 'V' into it.

So it can sit perfectly like this...20230506_131721.jpg

Put the tube, washer and nut on the coach bolt and tighten away. The venturi should come straight out.20230506_131818.jpg20230506_131856.jpg20230506_131921.jpg20230506_132256.jpg

To insert the new venturi, you need to ensure the notch is aligned correctly before insertion. Use the tool to pull the venturi into the carb body.20230506_132712.jpg20230506_132738.jpg20230506_132824.jpg
Reinsert, the little round stop which falls out during extraction of the venturi. Put the secondary venturi back in and put the spring and screw back in position.

Use sealant to seal the hole.

Congratulate yourself on a job well done.
