I'm sure I won't be the only one to see the irony in him paying a "bribe", sorry fine, to stop his trial on bribery charges. all legal in Germany apparently where if you have money you can stop your trial. Here at least you have to hand over your money to expensive solicitors who then try to find loopholes so I suppose it is more transparent :rollseyes: :rollseyes:

Indeed, $100m is not a lot for someone like BE, and paying his way out of this may have been the plan of action when it became almost certain, had the trial progressed, that he was going to prison for 10 years or so.

Would love to know what those "certain circumstances" referred to above are!
