Silly suggestion: #2

Is it time for a home page refresh?

I was looking at this http://www.detomasodc.co.uk/model-history was thinking we could do this much better.
Their forum is pants btw! All show and no substance...
Maybe we should have more references (ie pics) to the V6 trophy series? ie 'big up' the marque's motorsport credentials.

Secondly, it's probably time to move the featured cars to the media section? or simply delete? It's looking a bit unprofessional. :salut:

Please accept this as constructive criticism - as this is the best car forum ever! [cmilie=iconcheers.gif]

Good call Kett... I think James is already on this with the updated forum ;)

More references to the v6 Trophy would indeed bolster marque's motorsport credentials and the overall history behind the v6 road car. It'd also help add provenance to the marque.

Loving the De Tomaso Mangusta

Yep, new forum is under development at the moment. Asked dave about it at the weekend and they are waiting on the developers to sort the new gallery and code etc. The icons and drop down menu for easier phone browsing is done. I'm personally not that bothered about seeing trophy v6s on the forum but if others are might be a good shout. Sometimes it's best promoting the road car rather than variants so as to keep our niche in the forum/club market and attract new members that way.

I think Kett's suggestion is very useful. I will ask our in house editor Hovlev to get working on something suitable and fresh without being to heavily steeped in the past or harping on about those good ole days etc.

Many times I've tried to push/build up the featured cars pages to no avail. :( It may well be time to drop that, as the cobwebs are certainly forming on that page. I'm not a wordy sort of person due to poor schooling, and I have zero flare for stuff like that. I put in place what is offered to me by members sending content to [email protected] ;)

That detomaso site pays homage to Mrs Lovelace.
