Hi, All,
As some of you will know, I take part in quite a few organised scenic tours during the year. It is a chance to use my old cars and enjoy scenic routes around the country, stopping at many really nice places that I would never have discovered on my own. I did three such tours in the Vee last year. Last April, the Taith Cymru (starting and finishing in the Brecon Beacons and a 130 mile route in the hills and mountains to the north. In September, I did the Tour of the Cotswolds (says it all really) with 120 miles starting and finishing north of Cheltenham and then in October, I drove down to Ashford for the Tour of Kent.
I also did ten more in my other cars including two runs that I organised.
One pleasant benefit of taking part in these events is that there is generally a photographer or two along the route taking pictures of you as you pass. I've attached six of he best!
I went to the HRCR Open Day at the British Motor Museum at Gaydon on Saturday and signed up for more tours for this season. The first that I shall do in the Clio will be Cirencester Car Club's Corinium Run on 23rd April. If anyone fancies a shot at such events, the HRCR's website http://www.hrcr.co.uk is a good place to start looking. Events run all over the place from March to November.
