Update from my CS project thread.

Also the person in before me apparently asked Paul what the point was in having a 197 mapped. The answer is, you've clearly never driven one with an aftermarket exhaust. FLAT SPOT!!!!!

So went to RS Tuning today and had the car mapped. Paul said it was the worst flat spot he'd seen from just a catback. Ended up with a decent gain and the car is SO much more driveable now.

Before: 178.7 BHP
After: 185.6 BHP

Not sure what these usually run but Paul said it's about right for them. He also said he thinks the timing might be out a little but it doesn't look like it's affecting the power at all. He was fairly happy with the BHP increase too.

Can't recommend getting this done enough.
 
I heard that the 197/200 has a massive flatspot if you decat and / or exhaust it ..

Yep it's terrible. As my post says, Paul said it's the worst he's seen from just a catback. It was terrible, he was also impressed with the power increase we got too, especially considering that's not what I wanted it mapping for, I just wanted it to be more driveable.

Hahaha that was me I was asking if there was anyone else left to come after mine and I have driven my mates old 197 with miltek aftermarket exhaust. If your happy with the 6.9bhp increase and improved smoothness that's all that matters [emoji6]

Mine went from 260bhp to 309bhp with 350lb/ft definitely feel the difference now the big torque increase has transformed it.

I'd have been happy with 0bhp increase and increased smoothness, plus better overall performance throughout the rev range. Cars aren't all about pub figures, it's about driveability and to anyone with a 197, I'd urge you to spend the money on the remap and not on stiffer springs etc first. It's a much more enjoyable driving experience now.
 
Mine made 285bhp with stage 2, couldn't be happier with the map it properly transforms the car, and can not rate the guys at RS tuning enough, great day and will definitely be going back for further work!
