rough running and stalling mk 1 clio

Hi i have a 1.2 mk1 clio 1997

After the cambelt snapped on the motor way, i rebuilt the head with new valves, and new cambelt and head gasket/

Done all of this and the car runs rough. and will stall when i dip the clutch when the engine is cold.

i have tried connecting the car to a diagnostic machine.

No luck it cannont connect to the car. the ecu light flashes on the dash twice when searching for the ecu but it fails.

Any ideas??

valve gaps ok? checked you haven't trapped any wires? plug leads on right? crank sensor ok? vacuum pipes ok?
