Megane Road tyres for R26

Which road tyres would you recommend for a standard R26? Road use, no track days.

I'm very happy with the standard Michelin PS2's, excellent grip and firm sidewalls for a good turn-in. The only problem is they are quite expensive and hard to get where I live. I was considering PSS's but upon reading reviews, I've realized they have quite soft sidewalls and that's definitely one of the important things I'm looking for in a tyre - sharp handling.

What would you recommend? CS5P, AD08R, Ultrac Vorti?

Yep that clearly shows the much thicker rim protector on the PS4, it also just shows the funny pattern they have put into the tyre to make the Michelin wording stand out, its like a really fine ribbing made into the rubber.

They did it on the Cup 2 and people at first thought it was photoshopped onto the images of the tyres until real tyres turned up and everyone then noted it was a real thing that Michelin have started doing on the sidewall of new tyres. Doesn't seem to have any function other than to make the letters stand out more.

Had a good long drive tonight. Nice and dry with mixed roads. Not sure of the proper term but car seems to tramline line. Undulating surfaces seemed to be less of a problem, felt like the car would steam ahead in a much straighter line. I tried to provoke a little understeer but only ended up smiling even more. I cant find a problem thus far. Not as pretty as a PS2 or Pss maybe...but definitely a good tyre. I genuinely believe they are better than my previous ps2's. However, I'm still getting a weird sensation from them under normal driving. Can't put my finger on it, heavy, almost like they are too wide...push the fun pedal and everything falls back into pace. :-)

Love the 595's on my track Clio (used when it's damp/wet - normally run slicks in the dry). So naturally wanted to try them on my new megane. Highly rate them. Transformed the car. Only done 1200 or so miles on them but that's basically to Germany and 30 odd laps of the ring last weekend.

Previous trip was on dunlops and despite doing 30 odd laps then also , the confidence wasn't there that the 595's give. Really rate them :)

Even pouring rain most of the drive home on Monday wasn't too bad. Obviously standing water isn't fun tho.

Oh I know. I also have a new RS4 that got a new set of boots at the same time I fitted the 595's to the megane. Oponeo must have thought it was their birthday.

Certainly looks worth the £££

Any mods on it ? Dont they map to like a gajillion HP ?
No these are NA. I had a V10 RS6 before this and that was mapped to 730hp/1030NM. Went like stink but pretty much only in a straight line! They're huge cars not but to be nimble - hence I got the RS4 new last year. This one is standard as I'm still in warranty. Only thing I've changed are pads for when I take it to the ring.
