RIP Renault Sport Clio.

Hi,
I watched with interest Top Gear on Sunday 30th June where The New RS Clio was tested. Richard Hammond trashed the car
saying that it had lost the Renault sport ethos of being a drivers car due to the auto gearbox but the thing that struck me was the fact that to try and get some of the fun back you have to select the engine noise you hope would actually come from the engine, from an audio file played through the stereo. Have all the people that had the passion to build sporty cars retired? RIP Renault sport.

Nigel.

Not surprised at the verdict re the new RS Clio.......as regards hearing sounds to match various engine notes through the car's speakers.....well there are no words to describe it, except to call it a gimmick!

Wasn't the recent unveiling of the Twin'Run Concept all about promoting the new mid-engined, rear-drive Twingo?

Well here is another (more real world?) review: LINK

Not sure which/who is hotter - the Clio or the Presenter! :s

Anybody taken the plunge, or will consider getting one in time?

Booooooooooooooooooooring Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz! Seems to be attracting all the wrong sort of press, shame really but Renault seem to tend to do this by chucking out the odd horror amidst the other icons! Not my sort of cup of tea!

Too right Simon. Again electronics feature more than necessary, which I am sure detracts from the driving experience.
