Megane Ricardo's Arctic White Megane 4RS

And just to add its not just Renault, Peugeot with the 308 GTI, Audi... And more, well that's what I'm hearing..
Yer, there's been a delay in new company cars for the last 6 months, BMW and Ford got their testing done months ago, but VAG group still haven't finished

I was thinking for those that had the orders cancelled!

Whats your impressions of it? How is it like compared to your 220EDC? or even the 225 you owned?

Aaah, ok!

Bags more torque than the 220, it pulls really nice through the gears. I've just hit over 500 miles in it, the book says limit the revs and stay below 78mph for the first 600 miles so I'm not far off hanging it out in the gears but from what I have done it's quicker than the Clio. I'll be honest with the speed the EDC is a better option, no faffing with the gear changes. Also the gear selecting is a little notchy, my 13 year old 407 SW is a smoother gear changer. You have to be a bit brutish with it, but going back to manual it's taking some getting used to as I've been spoilt with the 220 doing it for me and to be fair it does it bloody well. I hear the Meg EDC is more refined, maybe I should have waited? Too late! Still once you get away from first and second gear it really moves. The EDC probably comes into its own on smaller technical tracks much imagine a faster flowing flowing track will suit the manual much better but you can clearly see why the high power cars use paddles. It's just too much, too fast for manual gear changes, too slow, too old and clunky.

I'm still getting used to it all.... Hopefully I'll be hitting the Nurburgring very soon, with brake mods to suit. Thinking of DS1.11 pads and 660 RBF fluid.

Man, it sounds awesome. Especially the faster than the 220 already bit. Impressive stuff.

I wouldn’t beat yourself up about the EDC box. Sure it’s great tech but I love a manual shift. I wonder if there are any mods to make the shift less notchy?

To be fair I'm not overly fussed about the manual, once the 600 miles is done I'll get to grips with it and really push the boat out. It's a bigger more powerful car and needs to be shown who's the boss, which I'll do at the Nurburgring..

So, this statement was passed around social media as of last night and confirmed to me this morning when I spoke to the saleswoman who sold me my Megane.

COPY AND PASTED
Orders cancelled until it meets euro 6 emissions and the WLPT. Aparrently all ordered and not delivered cars are cancelled and will need to be reordered! Yellow and orange were delayed too due to lack of paint.
WLPT has caught a lot of manufacturers with their pants down apparently but this is a bit embarrassing for a new model to get put on hold

What a bloody farce... didn’t Renault do any homework about these new regs until the night before they became law...? 🤦🏼‍♂️

The meg3 gearshift is also a little notchy, should loosen up a little once you have hammered it, you will get used to it; I found the rs250 to be one of the best gearchanges I've driven, maybe needs a shortshifter kit but thats it really. I would think the meg4 is even better so I expect you'll be very happy once you hit the 'ring.
Happy motoring!

Thats what I'm thinking, maybe it's just so new and needs a few hundred odd gear changes to bed in? We'll see.

Apart from KAM Racing and George Snee at RTR, can anyone recommend a place for DS1.11s? Mart mentioned JJC rally but unless I'm doing something wrong it doesn't seem to 1: list those pads 2: list the Mk3 Megane.

KAM and RTR are both pretty much the same price around £260ish

Renault UK are covering the cost of the RS mats and sending a credit voucher in response to the delivery delay. Hopefully the mats will be here this week 👌
