When working on your car in freezing winter conditions, go round pumping up all the tyres before you do anything. This will warm you up enough to carry out even the most miserable of repair jobs ;)

one of the pumps that stand up and you push down on with your hands

nearly had a heart attack pumping 2 of my old golfs tyres from flat!

dont think i could have repaired anything after that
 
I've sure i've heard it reads 122 as a default setting, so maybe it's just a dodgy connection or it's come unplugged.

You know it's mounted under the passenger wing mirror.
 
When working in the freezing cold just close the doors and get a heater!!
Then leave your spanners on top of the heater keeping your hands warm when used!

If car is running warm it up before you work on it that way the engine heat will keep you warm.

Wear a wooly hat!

Wear latex gloves they keep your hands just above freezing point!
 
done wooly hat and latex gloves today, essential! plus 4 layers. but with gloves you don't always get the sense of feeling you need.

Oh yeah and never lie directly on the ground, always use cardboard or at least a plastic sheet ;)

I didn't like to say, but the man is definitely in the minority there!

I just think about the number of clutch / box changes Si has done on the street...
 
did my oil/oil filter/coolant change in the street today too lol

Attire consisted of two t-shirts (one under the other of course) jeans, boots and wooly hat :)

Only time i felt the cold today was when i took the car for a spin afterwards (still not got around to changing out the heater matrix and prolly wont bother now until the car is stripped and rebuilt)

if its running, dont touch anything! leave it aloneeeeeeee :D

Well i am definately in the minority, got fed up of working on my back on my drive! Think the worst was a gt turbo rebuild in the snow! Crawling round underneath takin big ends off to get the liners out in slush and ice not nice!

So i got a workshop, its also got 2 2 poster ramps, compressor, tyre machine, diagnostic computers, benches, a big yard for storage,......i could go on! Only problem is it costs a fortune and i have to fix everyone elses cars before my own!
O.k i'm the lucky one i wont even go out in the yard and get a car started if its cold now! But i do sympathise with those that brave the cold to fix their cars! I cant remember how many times i have been stood out in the freezing cold at daft o'clock in the pitch black using a maglite to finish puttin my car back together because i needed it to go to work the next day!
