retread tyres

i've got some white wheels on the car which is a bit silly over winter so i wanna get some tyres on my spare wheels and looking around i've found retread tyres, anyone had any before or have an opinion on them?

Also any general recommendations as to what make and bargains to be had gratefully received

Putting remoulds on for winter? Just... don't

I've tried and tested remoulds, for everyday use and winter mine were fine and were only £20 each fitted brand new. I've heard stories where people have used them at high speed and the tyres have got hot and they've come apart where they are bonded.

That was around 8 years ago, I've always just bought proper tyres from then on.
