5 GT Turbo Replacement tyres for the Speedline 13s

Good evening all.

At least two of my Uniroyal 195/55/13s are coming to the end of their lives and i wondered what people are currently running on their standard wheels?

Any recommendations? I need an all year round road tyre.

I can see whats currently out there, which isnt a lot, but i dont know which ones are better than others?

Id love a set of 15s for the car but they are not as easy to find anymore like they were in my youth lol
All the wheels i see appear to have smaller centre bores than the Renault.

Thoughts welcome, thanks in advance.

Much appreciated.

I just had a look and they list an Avon Turbospeed CR27 195/55R13 80V for £149.00 + VAT. Has anyone used this tyre before ?
Hi @Shane P

I’ve got a full set of Avon Turbospeeds that I had fitted to my 5GT Turbo and they’re great!! Drive really nicely.

As an aside, I’ve got a set of 4 Uniroyal 195/55/13’s that are in as new condition and have been stored in my garage since I bought them. If your looking for a cheaper option, I’m open to an offer on them? They’ve still got all the manufacturing lines on them!

Hi Big Steve

Thank you very much for your reply and review of the tyre. I shall send you a PM about the Uniroyals once i figure out how to.

Could i ask your opinion on some other tyres that ive found listed ?

Michelin Pilot Exalto PE2 195/55 R13 80V
Vitour Formula X 195/55 R13 80H
Nankang Sportnex NS-20 195/55 R13 H (80)

I wondered if you had any experience of any of these tyres?

No worries understood. I was hoping that the Vitour tyre was going to be a good third option.
I would definately like to purchase the Uniroyals from yourself but i cant seem to work out how to private message?

Many years ago, i did have a set of Williams Clio alloys but i sold them to Jesus.

Final question if i may ?

All the 15 inch alloys i see listed on ebay appear to have a smaller center bore than the Renaults, the BBS wheels for example seem to have 57.1 centre bore sizes and some Jap wheels even smaller.
Is it possible to have centre bores machined to fit the Renault size ? or is that bordering on ridiculous?

Yes you can, I bored out a set of wheels I had at a local machining shop. You just have to make sure there’s enough “meat” on the wheels to allow you to do that. Usually you just want to machine out a step on the back of the wheel so your Centre cap still fits the wheel.
