Hi,
did anyone replaced the front suspension bushes by Powerflex ones and will be an improvement - i.e. in terms of handling & response?
Or any other suggestions, alternatives for the front bushes?
Btw a Phase 2
I fitted them to my Volvo 850-R and they certainly stiffened things up, however 12 months later they destroyed themselves. They were fitted as per the instructions ie lots of copper grease but still failed. Powerflex told the garage I use they must have been a bad batch! They sent me a new set for free and I've had no trouble since.
TBH, if they fail again, I'm trying another brand.

To be honest, I doubt they were a bad batch. Ive had the same problem in the past. Even the engine mount type broke into bits. I ended up going fully rose jointed in the end which is definatly worth it when using sticky rubber. Just my opinion but I doubt you will get much gain in fitting them to the front of a standard vee. Remember that there really is very little weight over the front of the car.

many thanks guys!
Although you read quite often in advertisements -i.e. for trackday cars - the powerflex as an upgrade for the suspensions, the durability is still a concern. Was mentioned is some forums but I thought that has been resolved over the years. Apparently not, so not an option
Got solid engine and gearbox mounts, dogbush mount on my cup and it rattles like an 'old granny walking over a loose paving stove" - instant throttle response though!
