RenaultSport Sabelt Harness

Ricardo

Well-Known Member
Would I be right in saying along with the RenaultSport steering wheel that everything in the Renault one make race cars with Sabelt parts such as the seats and steering wheels have Renault part numbers?

I was wondering if that's the case with the harnesses

Thank you

If you want RS branded belts, steering wheel & seat you will have to order them through Rsport and not a Renault dealership.
I will find the website address for you,
The harnesses that are fitted to the R26R & Trophy do have dealership part numbers.

R sport in Wimbledon are now closed regarding retail sales but the contact email address is [email protected]
The belts for the R26R come as individual sections and some vehicle details are required, as for Megane III trophy R i have yet to look them up.
Exactly which parts are you after & for what car? as you could use Sabelt items from places like JJC, DT or Merlin motorsport

I was led to believe that anything RenaultSport potentially have part numbers. Or specialist RenaultSport dealers like R Sport could order such things.

All the Renault Clio Cup race one make series use Sabelt RenaultSport items such as seat, steering wheel and harnesses as std issue right through from the 182 to the 200s.

I have the exact seat, I've ordered the steering wheel from Renault so I'm assuming the harnesses could be sourced too..... I'm on a mission!

Just a normal 6-point Sabelt harness innit? If it is available from Renault, I'd imagine you'll pay through the nose for a set

Yes all Renault Sport motor sport parts have Renault part numbers but they are only normally available through the assigned distributor which at present is only R-sport in Wimbledon.
The Renault sport dealer network is for road car sales and maintenance of the RS brand and from past experience we haven't been able to order any motorsport part numbers, it may change as things move on.
Any way here are some part numbers for a Clio III cup car
Steering wheel 7711160037
Harness 7711167161 (No colour option)
Harness fixing kit 7711162037
Seat 7711167158 or 159 or 160 depending drive size

The harness setup in the pic above has the RenaultSport logo embroidered in, you won't get them in normal motorsport shops.

Aaaah brilliant @Red21 the steering wheel is the same number I have so hopefully the harness will be ok. I'll pop into Renault and speak to the parts guy I know, thank you

A quick question for you Ricardo,
Are you just going for the look or are you building a Clio for competition?

If you are going for competition be cautious on the expiry date on the belts.

It's actually all going in a Megane 225, purely for looks. As I have the RenaultSport Sabelt seat and steering wheel I thought it would have been a nice finishing touch to have the harness too. Trackday and B Road blasts car not for competition.

I rang about the harness, out of stock here and France with no news on when they'd be available so I'm out of luck there on that avenue.

Your best bet is to try again in May/June time, if not they generally restock in December January ready for the following season or contact one of the race teams to see if they have any out of date RS branded belts.

Good idea, I'll try Cooksport to see if they can help or point me in the right direction

Thanks for all the help so far
