Ok Dave....thanks.....
So, the one i've spotted isn't an actual "cup" as it's a phase 1....all very confusing..........& in your modest opinion the phase 2 (like yours) is the one to go for....???

Well, it's got all the trimmings to make it a nice car to drive anywhere, anytime.
It behaves around town.
It's easy to park.
It's comparitively cheap to run when you compare it to the kit you'd need to compete with it
It does low 30mpg around town and OVER 40mpg when you stick the cruise on at 70.
But then- you make it angry. Poke it with a pointy stick. Get that rev counter over 3500rpm and it picks up and by 4000 it turns from a car into something I can only liken to an angry wasp. The induction noise is sublime....like....ohmygod sublime (with the induction filter on mine). I want a quiet exhaust because I want to listen to the maddened Clio draw breath.
The handling it utterly bonkers for a totally OE setup. I've hurtled into corners expecting to be dead within the next 3.2 seconds and not just come out the other side but done so thinking "I could have done that faster". I did a track day at Blyton with the RTOC and it was tearing up pretty much everything that wasn't a dedicated track car or Evo-esque. Drove it there. Emptied the tank on track (Still 16mpg!) and drove it home. Didnt miss a beat and hasnt since.
My negatives:
The tax is ?144 for 6 months, the robbing feckers.
Long runs on the motorway the 5th gear is a bit too high, i'd like a 6th to sit it at ~3k at 70, as it is it does 3500 or so....but then it has cruise and a good stereo so its a small critique.
Small bit of melty-steering wheel but thats coming off now as I clean it away slowly.
Drivers seat you can see has a little wear on it but nothing severe, no tears or backing showing through.
The barry exhaust has gotta go.
Um...thats it.....because I have resolved or preventatively replaced all of the common problems. I don't do it justice because I dont use it enough, once a week maybe, just so it doesnt sit idle. Literally a backup car waiting patiently for it's weekly runaround.
It's even got an integrated CAT1 alarm that deactivates the OE immobiliser, thus meaning the common dying-keyzapper problem isnt an issue....although the keyzapper still works anyway.
I originally bought it to sell it.... didnt work out that way did it lol. I'm not even sure I do want to sell it.
