renault trafic turbo !!!

well , that's good news ; 12 v eh ? anyone know the engine number ? might add it too my list !!!

oh dear ; I'm getting all ambitious ! tell me it can't be done !!
been hunting around and see there is also a J7R 754 12v, which is also 1995

but with a carb lump at the moment , even with the head and all it's ancillaries it still wouldn't work would it? ; at a guess I have a mechanical fuel pump and the injection would require an electric pump [ in the tank?] , and what else would I need ???
going to be beyond my ability , isn't it

Well it depends on what sort of condition it is in and how much work you are willing to do really.
You could go for swapping the lot for an engine and efi gear from an injected 2.0 or 2.2, 8 or 12 valve, or just for a twin choke carb and better engine breathing.
And yes you will need the high pressure fuel pump (external), lines, filter and associated electrics for the efi engine.
If you go this far I'd go the whole hog and fit the turbo lump in, but then if you do that are your brakes up to it??????

brakes ? it's a renault trafic ...they don't have brakes !

seriously though , that's a good point ; but the limiting factor is really my mechanical ability ; how would I do an engine change ? even if I bought another engine , how would I know it was any good ? the bottom end of my existing lump is A1 , so would be loath to change it

just come up with another question ; with a volvo head it is possible to block off the injector holes and fit a carb if you want ; if I got a 12v head , is it possible to strip off the injection system and fit a carb ?

I suppose a conversion to injection is not beyond me though , only tricky job would be the return to the tank , presume the electric pump could be grafted on to the existing pipe ; other than that it's a bit of wiring to feed through a relay etc

if I disappear for a bit , haven't given up , off to portugal in this beast so off line while en route!

The EFi conversion is difficult, there's a lot more to think about that you realise (believe me lol)

Your best option is to run a high compression double downdraught carb job I think. With a bit of this n that you could see about 150 brake.
