Renault Alpine Caterham split

I would agree with it seeming like a positive step rather than a negative, as you say there would likely have been compromises. I look forward to seeing what Renault/Alpine can produce, hopefully it will still resemble the concept from a few years ago.
 
Tbh this would have bee nice if it had worked. Caterham being a small British manufacturer would have really benefitted from it. I can't help but think that Renault got what they wanted thrn split taking ownership of the project...
 
I think the fact that Caterham is 'for sale' at the moment may have something to do with it, rather than Renault wanting it all. Although I'm sure they wanted a controlling 51% from the start, as they do with everything they're involved in.
