Renault 5 gt turbo

Should also buy the modified jets in your opinion?

It would be useful if you could find some ac & 1st stage jets (from memory they are interchangeable). The second stage is a permanent jet so most tend to solder and then re-drill if that needs adjusting. I wouldn't worry about buying main jet's as best to leave this alone. The problem you may find however is that tracking new or even used jets down is difficult. I'd also invest in some decent micro drill bits and ensure you keep them in good order so you know which size you are using.

A member sent me this once, I forget who but whilst I was still on carb I found it was useful.

"Idle circuit shuts off at about 1500rpm, main circuit then opens, utilising main jet. 1st stage opens up as engine moves out of vacuum into boost. With Large turbos this takes a while to get past, a smaller jet is needed else it bogs. Then the 2nd stage opens. All the other jets are still open though, The smaller air corrector makes everything richer by reducing it's size"

Standard carb;

1.2mm main jet
1.25 air corrector
1mm 1st stage
1mm 2nd stage
0.45 idle jet
0.40 accelerator pump jet
1.7mm valve

My Modified carb - based on 285 cam, gt2650r, large front mount and various other mods (fuel pump, malpassi etc)around 23-25psi, mid 11's at WOT.

1.2mm main jet
0.8 AC
1mm 1st stage
1.4 2nd stage
0.46 idle
1.7mm needle valve

Hopefully this helps a little but the likes of @Brigsy and @Adey have fucked with carbs much loner then me.

Your best bet before dicking around with jets and guesswork is get the kit installed. See what is what right away. They small changes to the setup rather than a massive change and a engine rebuilt.
