5 GT Turbo Renault 5 GT Turbo Engine or GTL?

Hello Guys, New here. Happy New year to all......
Ive joined to maybe get some insight on an engine I've listed on Ebay. I purchased it years ago for a project which never got going, I stripped it ready for rebuild and that was it!

Although everything on the engine was from a turbo, the block identification plate doesn't show a GT Turbo number. I think the block on mine is from a Renault 5 GTL: C1 JA7/68 and underneath D.

Any information would much appreciated.. Its on ebay anyway with the gearbox and all ancillaries.
Item Number:164015378361
Thanks
Adam

Welcome to TurboRenault @braindecay101 / Adam.

That looks like a C1J Renault 5 GT Turbo Engine to me, but something's different?? Given that it's not got an engine number (where that currently reads D) I suspect it's was once a new block.... or it was fitted in a Race Car...?

Any other suggestions chaps..?

Hi Steve, thanks for your input; I was under the impression it was a GTL as that C1J A768 stumped me. I could only find one reference to it on the net for spark plugs and it referred to a GTL engine, Im not sure if the blocks were the same but as I said before, gearbox and everything else appears to be 5 GT Turbo.

Block is the same, you have to fit liners and pistons from gtt. Some says that oil pump is not the same but I see no difference. Of course you have to change manifolds add turbo charger and make oil Line to turbo charger. Add carburettor solex 32 dis supecharged and New aei renix re 209. Sorry for my English im from Poland.

Oil pump is different on a gtt, timjng chain tensioner, and a few other bits here and there.

I would avoid the block pictured from seeing the paint on where the oil filter goes😐

Hello do you know what is a diferents in this pump? I have checked in Haynes manual and there no info about it.

The gtt oil pump has a vein and rotor assembly that provides sufficient flow for the extra capacity of the gtt oil system, (oil cooler/turbo)

Normally aspirated aka campus oil pumps are a gear type design which usually results in low oil pressure on the turbo engine.
