Hi my renault 19 1.9 diesel snapped a clutch cable yesterday and was replaced by a garage at a cost of £100 now I cant get any gears?

Any advice also would the enginge have to come out if its the clutch plates?

Thanks

First off check the floor mat hasn't moved and stopping the pedal, my old diesel had loads of clutch cables break and it turned out it was the fly wheel, if this is the case scrap it unless you can do the work yourself!

Yes, take it back. You paid £100 to change a cable, you shoudl at least expect it to work!!!

Try this first though, it costs nothing and only takes a minute. The pedal is adjusted for cable length by a spring-loaded ratchet on the back of the pedal. It is like a quadrant with teeth on it. Feel for this in the footwell behind the pedal and pull it forward so it 'unhooks' from the teeth it meshes with on the pedal itself, and at the same time push the pedal down to take up the free play in the cable. Then let the quadrant go, and depress the pedal a few times, and try and get gears again.

Deffo take it back. You paid £100 not to have this problem

If you fiddle with anything yourself theyll just say you fucked it up when you take it back.
