Remove ABS ECU / Pump

Ben123

New Member
Hi all,

Can anyone tell me if it's possible to remove the ABS ECU/Pump (which I think is one piece?) without draining all the brake fluid?

I have an ABS fault which I suspect is down to this, and need to remove to have it tested....

Thanks, ben

The pump is full of fluid so the brake fluid will come out when the pipes are removed, best way is to drain the brake fluid cylinder then this will ease the amount of fluid that will drop on to the front subframe and under tray.

Good stuff James, OK thanks...i'll move my face an appropriate distance away when I disconnect it

 :approve: Need to be careful when draining as fluid is corrosive and will attack single pack paints etc, undo pipes and catch fluid in a tray underneath. Also have a supply of rags handy

One of the most common rust points on a 21 Turbo is under the brake master where people spill brake fluid and dont clean it off, it eats the paint away and then rots the chassis rail like a sonofabitch.
