Recaro Pole Position Seats only £1150 - CLOSED

Just in time for the MOT changes...Does anyone know how the fixed seat buckets are going to pass on the Vees? [smilie=icon_cry.gif]

Just recieved mine aswell.. The boz is in a bit of a state but luckily all of the stuff inside the box are in mint condition :)

Now to try and fit them.. Anyone got any how to's? Just opened everything and it seems a right puzzle.. I take it we have to use the gliders off our old seats?

Did you not spec sliders with the subframes? Gonna be nigh on impossible to transfer over oem sliders from original seats.

^ That's the easiest way fella! The Renault subframes bolt on to the recaro mountings. Although they are too high!

I thought the sliders came as standard with the sub frames, what's the easiest way to transfer across the sliders off oem seats?

It's a few bolts Jonny...Quite simple when it's all in front of you...The hardest bit is getting the oem seats out! Bolts are under the car and the seat belt bolt can be a bit of a swine to undo.

Always learning!! :)

Wouldn't that look a bit gash though? Aren't the renault subframes all grey and plastic? And as you mentioned the seats will still be like sitting on top of a lifeguard tower...

Loving the use of the word "gash"

You don't see it, the silver mountings, bolt onto the recaro platform, which inturn bolts onto the Renault mounts and runners...Difficult to explain without pics! Me and colin and have a txt conversation about this at the moment!

You are right though, the seats sit too high, well mine do, colin had his modified (Alex) but we can't 100% figure out how!!!!!!

my seats will be coming out in the near future so i can look more into how they have been "lowered" once i get them out... :approve:

This sounds like a bit of a mare, and no disrespect to K1ano's How to guides on this forum and the other guides that have been mentioned on the net, but if Id have known these Pole Positions sit too high on the standard runners I dont think id have bothered buying them! Its the main reason I hate the standard Renault seats.... they are like sitting on a bloody totem pole!

I've done a search but can't find any pictures - does anyone have a picture of these fitted with standard Recaro Base Frame Mounts i.e. not custom subframes?

I'm quite tempted to get a pair but I am concerned by the potential high seating position - if it's similar to standard then that's fine. :race:

Tim

Tim, I'll try and get some pics taken this wknd, but basically I'm pretty pissed off with the height of mine, and I'm still trying to find a solution.
