Rear Discs Discontinued

Ordered a set off Renault Parts Direct last week and just got an email saying:

Good morning
I am sorry, Renault have told us the item will not be coming in and is no longer available to order
I have refunded your payment in full, this will be 3-5 days
Regards

Renault Parts Direct

Tried to buy direct from an AP dealer but AP say they can only be bought through Renault....

Whats my best aftermarket option?
How do the discs and bells that Ktec sell perform/wear?

Joe

better using Apec once they have their dimensional issues resolved, personally had no problems with these and have given them pretty severe testing  At the price they are pretty much consumables and can be changed when you change the pads!

This really annoyes me with Renault as they state we won't sell you the part and the company that makes them are not allowed to sell you the part either.

Surly if Renault decide not to sell it you anymore they will let the manufacturers
It's like buying parts is a bad thing

How to make a vehicle redundant so that you have to go and buy a new one  Stop making critical parts :approve:
The Mitsubishi GTO of around 1990 to 2000 had a very nasty little trick built in, capacitors in the transmission ecu were 'programmed' to burst and release acid onto the pcb thus causing apparent transmission failure. people spent fortunes messing with the auto 'boxes trying to make it work and eventually went to change the ecu only to find that was NLA and the board was irreparable as the acid had eaten through both sides and destroyed all the superfine copper tracks! If you open the ecu you will find little purple pea shaped capacitors with the name 'Rubicon' on them, they are unstable above ambient temps and eventually split when heated so what better place to put the ecu than right next to the heater matrix! Change the capacitors t oa different type and the board is no longer a ticking time bomb!!

Hi, I just signed up here. [cmilie=iconcheers.gif]

Send an old disc to BG Developments in Worcester and see what they can do for you.

They reversed engineered a set of bells for a Saxo S1600 I am restoring, quick turn around and not big money.

If a few owners need a rear disc package it may bring down the cost of development.
