I think a few belts will be up soon Matt !

Phill had his done in Chester last and so I will be likely to go there in March but the deal you organised has always looked really good :approve:

One observation myself and Phill made was that his water-pump looked perfect - clearly it is still a good idea to replace it though ...

Martin

I think its best to replace it for what a water pumps costs. Plus it has to last another 5 years!

That service cost looks very good - are you sure it includes brake fluid and all the other things you have listed on your other post ?

Good prices ... Though it's ironic the water pump is such a large part of the total given it must be quiet easy to replace once the belt is off etc.

Hi Martin,

Just emailed to check on that now. I don't think it does include the brake fluid and coolant change. Will post cost when I get this.

Cheers,

Matt.

I asked Renault this question once before and the reason they gave me was because they price them as separate jobs regardless of them being done at the same time!

FYI Matt,
When I had mine done at Sunwin the large price increase for water pump was the increased labour charge for dropping the engine. They do the belts without dropping engine, IIRC something like 5 hours for belts and 9 or 10 hours for both belts and water pump ( engine out ).
Hope that sheds some light on the matter.

Yeah, got the water pump and used Renault parts to get warranty. Just over 1K all in :approve:
Think the first quote without discounts, 'special offers' etc was about £1600 LOL

Do I need to get the full Aux belt kit when I get the cambelt done next month or can I just change the aux belt alone? What does the kit contain - Pulley?

Thanks,

Matt.

hi mate, when i had the cambelt done on mine i just got the auxillary belt but when we had the engine out and took the belt off one or two of the tensionsers sounded a bit grumbly if you know what i mean when spinning them. so ended up getting the full kit - could'nt find it anywhere other than renault though - but they did have one in stock at blackpool, hope this helps
