Matt, how come we have to supply the parts ourselves?

You don't have to but paying Renault prices for parts would massivly inflate the price to well over £1300! Labour has been reduced by over half I think.

I will cost up the Powergrip Cambelt Kit - I think I got it 2 years ago for my phase 1 at trade for £250 and water pump was £80.

Blimey, that seems like a great deal then.

I know Fred posted some cambelt part prices recently. Are they as cheap as you can get them?

Did Renault Preston mention how any warranty on parts/labour would work if providing the parts ourselves?

Good work by the way Matt :approve:

Cheers mate. I will be pricing up parts for mine shortly (it's due March 2010) but will try and price them up for everyone on here too in a month or so. I can get them pretty cheap though.

I just thought I'd post prices for members as there dealership is looking for business and return custom.

Not sure about parts/warrnaty sorry but give Gary a ring and i'm sure he can explain.

Just spoken to Gary....

and can confirm that the price Matt quoted includes the labour to change the cambelt, aux belt and water pump.

There would be a 12 month warranty on the labour but obviously no warranty on the parts if supplying them ourselves.

He will also provide a free courtesy car and free insurance for the duration of the service (2 days max)

This is a great deal I think [smilie=bowdown.gif]

Gary just emailed to say you had been in touch with them. I'll check on parts prices this week Chris and get back to you.

Matt.

Well done Matt that sounds great.

Myself and Robv6 have also been speaking to someone local - an ex Renault technician who has experience with Vee cam-belt changes. He has access to a Vee engine jig which is ideal for engine removal.

My Toyota is currently at his workshop with the engine out having some work done :-)

Sounds like us Northern guys are getting some options too ...

Very valuable information Matt and Martin, as mine is due in the summer time.

Keep us posted please. :approve:

Thanks.

Excellent work there Matt and Martin :approve: [smilie=bowdown.gif] mines due in July so I'll be very keen to see what final prices we get.

Hey Phill,

You don't rev your car above 3000 rpm so your cam-belt won't need replacing for a while

Hey up Martin....I know the beast is a very pampered baby :approve: but that would be just plain daft not to hear him bark now and again [smilie=icon_cheers.gif] [smilie=bunny_4.gif]

No deadline or cut off on the offer mate. Mines next March so will be booking it in then with Sunwin.
PM me if you need any more info mate.

Matt.

Booking mine in at Sunwin for March - cambelt (inc water pump), service and MOT.

Anyone else thinking of doing theirs around then?

Matt.

I think a few belts will be up soon Matt !

Phill had his done in Chester last and so I will be likely to go there in March but the deal you organised has always looked really good :approve:

One observation myself and Phill made was that his water-pump looked perfect - clearly it is still a good idea to replace it though ...
