radiator low temp fan switch

its my fan it doesnt kick in when it gets hot it over heated on me when i was stuck in traffic on a motorway which was embarrasing lol but some 1 told me to buy a low temp switch and it will sort it

hmm strange, i dunno what else to say lol sorry, some one more informed will know :D it might the be relay? (i think clios have relays too) sounds like the rad switch is working though :S my fan kicks in some times on the 5 with the ignition off.

debating whether to take the loom out and having a look and fixing the wires if any are damaged coz im having a lot of electrical issues with the twat bag at the min lol
and its my 1st valver soon to be my last lol

Get a standard Fan switch. MPG be better. As for more power. low temp fan switch will do feck all. Too much heat soak from engine, when it stand still town traffic, that will go cool as soon as your moving about, anyhow.

Well let's face facts. fan kick's in when car is stood. once your moving. is back to been cool within 2 min. unless your cooling system is fucked. And if your running big power. then you need a bigger rad.

Also on Valvers, the fan kick's in on the 3rd mark I think on the temp gauge, a good 2 3rd the way up. on a motorway it should sit just below the halfway mark.

I've just edited my post above. And if it a 1.8. I can tell you now it's not 140. at very best 130. Sorry to break it, but tbh, a lot of valver's are 125 bhp or less these day's.

Seen it load's of times on the Rolling road.

ah rite well its got k&n, stainlees exhaust with decat and just done cambelt headgasket and ran red ex threw it does this make any difference??? if not how can i get the power back

Fit a new switch, and give the cooling system a good flush. Also have you check the stats not closed shut. Don't forget your car, going on 18 year's old. It a teenager and it having a fit.

BTW as for getting power back TBH forget it. it's old end of, going to cost to get it back. and don't think it came from renault with 137 bhp. because I bet it did'nt. I seen a lot of 172's get 160-165 on the roller's. So I would'nt worry about it.

And if your wanting to throwmoney at it, go Hybird. 2.0 bottom end. 1.8 head..
