5 GT Turbo R5 service parts

Hi Everyone,
I just want to know what service parts to buy for the renault 5 and brands to use as this is my first time and I'm not sure what to use any help would be great on the following
spark plugs
oil filter
air filter oe
fuel filter
oil (which grade)
I guessing I need a oil sump washer as well

Thanks Chris

Oh I forgot any ideas where to get the little round clips from that attaches the GT turbo badge to the rear trim?

Be worth getting hold of a few sump washers and oil filters if you can. Best for C1J are Purflux LS590, and Fram PH4546 however Purflux have all been bought up, some Fram still about however.

Original oe plugs were B8EVX however they are obsolete, have seen the odd set on ebay though now and again same with oe air filters.

Definitely worth taking your time checking net etc and putting together a collection of essential service items as they are becoming obsolete and increasingly hard to source in the UK. ;-)

Use 5w50 synthetic oil (well, thats what I use anyway)
As regards the B8EVX plugs, if you look up the NGK plug nomenclature, it means its a
B: 14mm
8: Heat rating 8/11
E: 19mm thread reach (3/4")
VX: High Performance Platinum

So you should be able to find an equivalent plug with that information if you cannot find a B8EVX.

B8evx has been superceded - there is a newer version. Not used them yet mind but i imagine they will be ok.

Stick some total quartz fully synthetic 10/50 in - £27 for 5 ltrs on ebay.

Thanks everyone,
Dave that table shed some light on the plugs now I have my head round it, plugs now sorted and oil, the oil filters seem a bitch I enquired at my local motor factors today who stock fram, the ph4546 as been replaced with ph5796. the salesman shown me the table from fram and apparently they are the same filter and suit the C1J engine? http://www.sogefifilterdivision.com...ich_filtre.php?zone=FR&catalogue=FRAM&lang=PT
Are they correct or not? it lists the GT turbo on there so Im guessing its correct, it does seem the same size as I remember for years ago.

Should be a fairly flat oil filter, remember seeing them on ebay the other day £15 each delivered, bit pricey like but the correct filter and cheaper than an engine re-build ;-).

The dimensions for ph5796 are different to the original ph4546. Euro car parts sell a filter by crossland that is ok apparantly.

Thanks Brigsy, Mr raider
I'll order one of the Fram ones, I am taking this that the renault 5 as a problem with oil filter shortages as obviously the Fram ph4546 will eventually run out of stock unless you have a private stash which I aint.
Is there anything in the pipe line for oil filter testing by others or is it something R5 owners are going to have to live with not having loads of oil change services?

Yeah, the Fram ones will soon run out, there are a few alternatives available however not quite the same as the oe ones. I would buy a few Fram, perhaps a couple of those Crosland ones too then you can use a fram for now and use the other 2 to compare against the Crosland and any others available to see how suitable they are. These look ok just not seen a pic of the inside of it:

Depends how much you use the car, mileage, hard use, length of trips/oil quality. Could get away with oil filter change every 2nd oil chnage perhaps if not used too much.

172/182 (F4R) filters will fit, they are however slightly taller, LS218 Purflux filters from GSF will fit just that they are also slightly taller and differ from the genuine Renault 172/182 filters as I compared them and LS218's are slightly bigger. I received the 2 Crosland filters today, appear the right size, pressure plate is a little different from OE however 2 oil filters delivered £4.98 how can I argue with that! lol
