R5 Campus High Idle - One for the H...?

Chris, this will bring back bad memories of your mums grey one no doubt but the 5 i picked up last night seems to idle very high...i'd guess about 1500rpm or more.

I know you never sorted her one but what should i check?

the general concensous is to replace the entire injectiopn system with new, will run about 2k. The CTS on these engines is £120, yes one hundred and twenty pounds.

The problem is the injhection system is all guesswork and it can pop the ecu's. Most fail the mot's and just get scrapped with the high idle.

unplug the map sensor and leave it open and chances are it will revert down to a normal idle.

lol thought you might say something like that - i remember the problems you had with the grey one.

I will give that a go...suppose if it fails the MOT on that/something related it'll spur me on to get the 2ltr in...
