Moggy
Gone but not forgotten

Right then you 'orrible lot, guess I should show you what I've added to the collection!
but a little trip down memory lane first, so sit down, get a drink you old bastards, as we're going on an adventure

Summer 2005, I'd just come back from a fortnight away with @rogerreno in france and my 225 inferno was due its 18k service

I'd stopped working at Renault by then, and so it was booked into Lookers in Chester. When there, there was a trophy sat in the showroom, waiting to be bought.
Well, it would of been rude not to ask! my trade in value for my inferno was actually more than I'd paid for it (don't ask), but by the time I got the difference arranged, she had been sold. I was told she was going to be a 55 plate and would go on the road on the 1st Sept 2005.
Fast forward a few years, to 2019 to be exact. I'm sat in Manchester Airport waiting to go on hols to Florida. Mrs Moggy is shouting at Moggy Jnr, so I turn off like all good dads and hit ebay to pass the time

As some of you might know, but when I returned from Florida, my life got a bit mental as my mum got cancer, I had to quit my job, to look after Moggy Jnr, as they wouldn't let me reduce my hours and he got chicken Pox! This carried on for a bit, but then he went back to school, I went back to work, but then in Jan this year, I lost my mum and decided that life if for living, and set about completing my collection of Megane 2 RS'.
But guess what, I couldn't find a bloody trophy for sale.
Lots of head scratching and questions asked to everyone and anyone, but then thanks to cache on google, I found the link to the Trophy I'd seen on ebay in 2019. bit of detective work, and a few emails and, the guy still had it, he wanted to sell it! A few photos later, and I noticed the number plate had the lookers dealer logo on it.

I wonder.
he confirmed that he's bought it of a "renault Specialist" in llandudno (omg I'd hate to see what he didn't specialize in! who had bought it from outside chester off the first owner.
a price was agreed and it was picked up and brought to Moggy's collection the first weekend of lockdown (sshhh don't tell anyone)
it hadn't been loved but it was standard and all there.

So, after doing all the usual, inc the worst bottom bearings i've ever seen

then finding out that the receipt for the belt from 4 years ago was BS, the aux belt was missing most of the ribs, the tensioner had failed, and the the cambelt had more cracks than a crack house.
But, a full service, new brakes, finding a water leak and refusing to pay renaults stupid prices

she's done and in use as my daily

and she joins the rest of the fleet (the black 225 F1 is in hiding at the mo)

so there we go! another one saved and added to the collection
