Wanted R5 Alpine Turbo oil pump

I am looking for a rebuildable oil pump for an R5 Alpine Turbo motor. The pump is for my R8 turbo project. A Super 5 GTT pump will not work with my C3J oil sump. The sump is too shallow. I have it from a reliable source (a Scotsman) that the Alpine Turbo pump has a shorter lower section that will fit my sump. My source also tells me a 5 GTT sump won't work as it is designed for the transverse motor with a somewhat layed back orientation. Please dig through your bin of parts you thought you would never need but just couldn't part with.

Hi Bob,
Good to read that your project R8 is progressing, regarding sumps and pumps, I still use the std inclined R5GTT sump and Rotor Pump on my hillclimb car as you have seen me driving over the last decade or so, it also has the std baffle tray and thats it, I have never contacted the ground in use even on 175x50x13 Yokohamas.
As it happens I also use the R5 inline FWD Alpine Turbo short reach rotor pump in the original R8G 1255cc unit inside the factory std steel sump.
Regarding "on line" R5GTT rotor kits , I did fit one previously , but was horrified to discover after 1 seasons use that during a motor strip down inspection that the rotor shaft was rocking in the top end of the pump casting. A used rotor was test fitted on the bench and this was within limits ! I am sure that machining, to fit a suitable bush into the casting would resolve the matter.
I often wonder as to what the new complete rotor oil pumps are like quality wise.
Cheers
Best
W.
