Quicksilver exhuast noise

I have a ph1 with a quicksilver exhuast on came on the car start from cold sounds mint not to loud can hear the engine and the radio go up the road 2 min it then something changes in the engine and it goes in to just a drone when you floor it above 4k sounds ok but around town it's just a mono tone drone is this normal for this exhuast or is there something wrong

Tim - you're describing the characteristic of the QS.

Looks are great and is a good weight saving over OEM. Quality of materials is far better than ph1 standard backbox too.

There is an inherent problem with the design, which causes the drone noise. I tried to live with it but couldn't. Kept my mileage down however...lol!

Yeah defo keeps the miles down did 2 junctions on the motorway the other day can't imagine doing a long run in it which is a real shame because I love driving it..
Has anybody moderfied one to make it better?
Or what's the best exhuast to go for?

Bin the QS and fit a Spike Janspeed, you will not be disappointed :approve:

Just been on janspeeds site only lists for ph2 are they the same one need one for ph1 ?

Spike Janspeed is on the Group Buy section of v6clio.net

Unfortunately, it is a Ph2 product.
A Ph1 variant has been mooted but Spike isn't in the best of health at the mo...

I think the QS back box was a universal fit, whereas the Spike Janspeed bypasses the secondary cats (hence the Ph1 and Ph2 difference).

We need Duncan to do a Zorst thread (with pictures) like he did for rear spoilers!

There are variable options open to you. One of the best bets is to fit an OEM Ph2 - some of those on the Spike group buy might be happy to off-load their old cheaply. I did!
