Quicksilver Exhaust Help Needed

Hello

Ive recenlty managed to purchase a second hand Quicksilver backbox, The seller thinks its the supersport version which is what I wanted, is there any way of telling the two apart? I havnt got it fitted yet, Ive done a little research on here and I belive that the two exhausts sport & supersport are identical??

If anyone has any advice etc that would be great.

Hi Steve,

You're right - both QS exhaust do look identical. The only way of knowing would be to compare it to someone who has the SS version or test the dBs once fitted. The SS is considerably louder on tickover and when driving.

If your ears are bleeding after 2 miles then you have a Super Sport, if you have a headache after 2 miles you have a Sport.

............. but seriously there is no way of checking other than what Matt has correctly said - testing the sound output once fitted.

Ok thanks both, I was looking on Ktec and there different weights so i might try weighing it! Lol. It says the supersport is 9.3kg and the sport version weighs in at 10.1kg

Either way sport or supersport ill be happy, just one more question, im cleaning it up this afternoon, Im stuggling to get the tailpipes clean, ive tried auto gylm steel polish, but dosnt seem to be doing much? Dont wanna attack it with a grillo pad incase it scrathces it etc.

You could always pop down to Lancaster once it's on and compare it with mine Steve?

Ye thats an idea, thanks! Im getting it fitted next week so will let you know. Any ideas for the tail pipes ? They havn't rusted just a little discoloured.

I just use metal cleaner i got from Wilko's mate and it seemed to do the trick with them. You could get some ear-plugs whilst you're there too!

Got it fitted today, sounds lovly, think it is the supersport version, but dosnt seem overly loud. Plus i weighed it and came in at just over 9kg which the sport version is suppost to be just over 10kg. Another happy customer.
