QS Sports Exhaust - Boomy?

Does anyone else agree that the QS Sports exhaust is actually pretty boomy?

I wasn't expecting that...?

It's the normal sports one. It's very boomy upto about 3200rpm.

I've got the super sports (OMG) and admittedly it's loud, but hey I didn't get the car for creature comforts

Need to wear some F1 style ear protectors!!

Yep, I agree it's boomy!
I think the pros outweigh the cons though! Great fun!
Would I take it on a long journey? Not a chance...

Yes the QS std is boomy at certain revs. Around 3K is worst. It is also VERY LOUD for long jouneys.

BUT it looks amazing, and sounds great at low speed / high speed. Overall IMO it sounds great!

IMO (untested) a QS sport with one of the see through removable bulkheads might be ideal! All the good bits without the boom or noise for long distances!

thing with the QS exhausts is...


you lose all those sweet intimate engine noises from inside the car, the clunks and the gears whining and engaging etc..

its all just replaced with boooooooooom!

Having owned the QS OMG and now got my mk2 standard on I have to say, as Colin did I much prefer the standard exhaust on the car. It is a much nicer sound and more suited to the car.

Monkey according to k-tec the the quicksilver sport weighs in at 92 decibles and the omg weighs in at 95 decibles or fcuking loud in other words!!

Anyone tried the QS with a bulkhead. Could be ideal! :winky:

It'd reduce the boom inside whilst retaining the looks and growl outside!
