19 Project Turbo Shed - sponsored by Bosch PWS850-125

Yeah, thought about that but I think what I'll do if I decide I need PAS is use a mk1 megane coupe rack with a column from a PAS 19 both of which 'should' be a very easy fit, then use a saxo electric pump to power it. That seems the most straightforward way of doing it. But I'll not be driving it daily around town and parking up so probably not really much of an issue if it's a bit heavy.

Clearing up the last few irritating but necessary jobs required for an MOT.
Because I had to move the washer bottle from its usual home to make way for some other stuff, I had to find somewhere else for it. Passenger side scuttle is empty.

The standard washer reservoir has a really long neck on it so I cut it down and plastic welded the top back on, idea was to have it just poking out of the scuttle cover like a clio or something.

Then I changed my mind and didn't want it poking out, so got hold of a mk1 clio one instead which is much shorter. Sits in the scuttle nicely. Re routed the wiring and hoses and that's done

Need to make a bracket to hold it.

Also got my strut holes slotted on the mill this week

So that allows me to stand the wheels up straight. I try to have parts that are replaceable/consumable unmodified so I'll use these to get the required slot length worked out and then when I get new dampers I'll machine the slots in the hubs instead.

Also treated it to a new lambda:

Main tasks still remaining before MOT:

Fuel filter bracket (currently cable tied to a brake pipe... not ideal)
ECU mounting bracket (currently hanging loose in the engine bay)
New windscreen
Weld up hole in front of OSF chassis rail.
Find and refit horn or rewire to use the megane ones.
Paint steelies and get tyres fitted

I tried camber bolts but they didn't give enough adjustment, the slots have been milled out by about 7mm, the camber bolts can give you the equivalent of about 2mm.

Megane dual horns fitted and wired in

Made my annoying little bracket to hold the washer bottle

No idea what this little bracket in the scuttle is actually meant for - A/C gubbins mounting maybe? Anyway it was a convenient mounting point for a bracket.

Also made a basic bracket for the ECU, bit hard to see.

The to-do list is getting quite small now! :)

Been doing some more stuff:

Refurbed (read: sprayed with a couple of rattle cans of Eurocarparts' finest silver wheel paint) a set of 16V spare wheels - these are 15x6.5 and I can fit some shit wheel trims to them

Came out pretty good, chucked the lads at Kwik fit £20 to stick the tyres (Yoko AD08Rs with about 5mm left) on them.

And fitted:

That looks way too good, need those shitty wheel trims ASAP.

Also got the windscreen replaced:

Then did a spot of tracking. I'd like to think this is one of those "if it looks stupid, but it works, then it aint stupid" sort of arrangements. Set to 2mm (ish) toe out as per the specs.

Handful of little jobs to do, then it's MOT ready.

nice work, this is really coming along well. Ive always wanted to try tracking up a car myself, though from reading it looks a little involved. In love with the valver spares (y)
