I've got a tip.

Don't cut up anything that's a monocoque shell. There is no class in the new IVA test for a conversion to pickup and so you'll never get it legal until there is. Even if there was you would have to build it and renew everything else to make sure it's up to IVA standard.

keep it to paper.

BIVA does allow for pickup conversion but it has to be within goods vehicle limits- ie bed dimensions, gross weight, loading weight.

Basically, as has been said, because you will kill a bus-stop full of nuns carrying orphan kittens to a church raffle if you even contemplate removing the roof they have made it hell.

In fact, it has been hell since 1998.

Looks good though :)

Just checked. SVA still appliccable for converted goods vehicles until October, but that'll only be granted if they believe the vehicle's primary purpose it to haul goods.

BIVA has no test (I read wrong) for vehicles converted to pick-up.

In short, you can do it but you can't register nor drive it on public roads.

as for the legality, there are several pick up conversions on the retro rides forums which are being used as peoples daily cars, how did they go about making them leagle, may be worth asking on there
